Questions
The questions everyone asks — and the honest answers.
Including the awkward ones about price and about what happens if your dog doesn't pass the temperament test. We'd rather tell you now than at the door.

The day itself
Will my dog be put in a crate or kennel?
No. Our dogs roam an open floor all day, across three areas separated by size and energy level. There are beds, dog houses and cushion chairs to nap in whenever they want. The only time a dog is crated is if you specifically ask us to.
Do the dogs actually go outside?
Every day. The morning starts with a trip to a fully fenced outdoor dog park where the dogs can run off-leash. On top of that we do three walks a day, and potty and play breaks every two to four hours. This is the single biggest difference between us and most San Francisco daycares — many never leave the building.
How will I know how my dog's day is going?
You'll get photo updates throughout the day — the park, the play, the nap. You should not have to call a daycare to find out if your dog is okay. And if you do want to call, a person will pick up: (415) 961-9595.
My dog is small (or nervous). Will they be safe with the big dogs?
We keep three distinct areas and sort dogs by size and energy level. Small and nervous dogs are not thrown in with a pack of eighty-pound adolescents. Several of our long-time clients came to us specifically because their dog was timid and a warehouse-style daycare hadn't worked.
What are your hours?
We're open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and closed on weekends. Daycare drop-off is 8:00–9:00am and pickup is 4:00–6:00pm. If you use the shuttle, morning pickups run 7:00–9:00am and evening drop-offs run 3:30–6:00pm.
Getting started
How do I get started?
Send us your dog's name through the form, or call (415) 961-9595. We'll book your meet-and-greet, walk you through the space in person, and set up a trial day. Availability is limited — we cap the pack on purpose.
What is the temperament test, and what if my dog doesn't pass?
Before any dog joins, we set up a meet-and-greet with one or two of our current dogs. If that goes well, we schedule a trial day. If the trial goes well, you're in. We are honest about it: not every dog is right for a group daycare, and telling you that is part of the job. The test exists to protect the dogs already here — including, once you join, yours.
What vaccines does my dog need?
Rabies and DHLPP are required for every dog. Bordetella is not required but we strongly recommend it, since it helps prevent canine cough in group settings.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry business insurance covering incidents that occur under our watch.
Cost & the shuttle
How much does daycare cost?
A full day is $90. A 10-day pack is $825, a 20-day pack is $1,600, and an unlimited monthly pass is $1,400. We are not the cheapest daycare in San Francisco and we don't pretend to be — you're paying for a park trip every morning, an open floor with no cages, a low staff-to-dog ratio, and a phone that gets answered.
Do you pick up in my neighborhood?
We cover more than forty San Francisco neighborhoods, from the Presidio to Glen Park and everything in between. Check the service areas page — and if you don't see your street on it, call us anyway. We'll tell you straight whether we can reach you.
How much is the shuttle?
A monthly bus pass is $650 for unlimited round trips, which is how most of our regulars ride. A single round trip is $50, and one way is $25.
What if I get stuck at work?
It's the reason the shuttle exists. Your dog comes home on the van between 3:30 and 6:00pm whether or not your meeting runs long. Clients tell us this is the thing that made daycare actually sustainable for them.
Grooming & boarding
How do I book grooming?
Grooming books online through our scheduler — it takes about thirty seconds. Pick your dog's size, pick a time, and we'll take a $25 deposit to hold it. That deposit comes off your total.
Can my dog be groomed on a daycare day?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to do it. Your dog is already here, the groomer already knows them, and you make one trip instead of two. Just tell us and we'll slot it into their day.
Can you board a dog who has never been to daycare?
Call us and we'll talk it through. Boarding goes best when your dog already knows the building, the team and the other dogs — so we'll usually want to meet them and get a daycare day or two in first. Holiday dates fill early, so reach out before you book the flight.
Policies
Are you open on holidays?
We're closed on New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday) and Christmas Day.
What's your cancellation policy?
Daycare reservations are non-refundable within 48 hours of the reservation date, and passes are final sale. We'd rather tell you that up front than surprise you with it later.
